Current Research Interests: bridging political divides, nonverbal behavior, decision making, human rights, influence and persuasion, charitable giving, behavioral public administration.

In 2020 the Association for Psychological Science selected Alex as a winner of the RISE (Researching Injustice and Social Equality) Award, which "seeks to cultivate psychological science research in fields related to socially and economically underrepresented populations, and to recognize outstanding student researchers from diverse racial, ethnic, geographic, and cultural backgrounds, as well as other underrepresented groups" (APS).
